If I don’t have my own car or motor bike, or a driving license how can I get around?

If I don’t have my own car or motor bike, or a driving license how can I get around?

Street Taxis: Depending on your location, hailing a taxi down from the main street takes less than a minute, there are yellow cabs almost everywhere, and even people with their personal cars are willing to give you rides. The average cost of a taxi is less than 1 Euro.

Agencies: In every neighborhood in Qom there are official Agency Taxies where you would register your address and name. When you need a ride, you can call the Agency and they will be at your doorstep within 5 to 10 minutes. This is generally the safest option as the drivers are known and you can easily complain to the office in case of any incidents.  The average cost of an agency taxi is generally less than 1 Euro, although slightly more expensive than Snapp (see below).

Snapp/Maxim/Cab30: The equivalents of Uber/Lyft/Careem, these are Iranian made apps and work just like Uber. This service normally works really well from most areas in the city, although sometimes it can be difficult to find a taxi through the app. The average cost of one of these cabs is less than 1 Euro.

Note that Uber or any other foreign-made apps do not work in Iran.

Public Bus: Depending on your route you may also be able to use the Public Bus service. Buses are clean and safe to use, they can sometimes get a bit crowded. The cost of public buses is less than 1000 toman (significantly less than 1 Euro). You can also get a bus card made for frequent travel.
